We are excited to announce the opening of our brand-new after-school club in the picturesque Village of Pembury, Tunbridge Wells. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children during their out-of-school hours. We believe in fostering creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning.

Position Overview

As a Learning and Activity Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the experiences of our young learners. Your responsibilities will include planning and facilitating a variety of educational and recreational activities that promote growth, social interaction, and fun!

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the team to design a dynamic and age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with national standards and encourages holistic development.
  • Activity Planning: Create engaging activities that cater to diverse interests, including arts and crafts, sports, science experiments, and more.
  • Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children during club hours, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Parent Communication: Offer parents insights into their child’s progress as per policy (Once every term).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members and external partners to enhance the overall club experience.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate attendance records, incident reports, and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Passion for Education: You genuinely care about children’s growth and development.
  • Creativity: Bring fresh ideas to the table and create memorable learning experiences.
  • Organizational Skills: Juggle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a teaching assistant or working with children in an educational or recreational setting is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree or certification in education, child development, or a related field.

Working Hours

Part-Time: Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible schedule).

Monday to Fridays:

  • 1st session: 16:30 – 18:00
  • 2nd session: 18:00 – 19:30

Saturdays/Bank Holidays:

  • 1st session: 10:30 – 12:00
  • 2nd session: 12:00 – 13:30

Location

Our after-school club is based in Pembury, Tunbridge Wells.
